Job Description
Paralegals support the delivery of quality legal services to management and clients by providing administrative assistance to corporate counsel and human resources. General responsibility for a variety of complex administrative tasks including legal matter management and tracking, document retention and retrieval, federal regulatory compliance and licensing
Key Responsibilities
- Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes
- Assists with the preparing and drafting of contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, employment, and related matters
- Under the direct supervision of corporate counsel, helps with preparing legal documents. This includes maintaining a system for draft documents, litigation discovery, legal matter tracking and document management, leave administration, and employee separations. May also record Legal Department meeting minutes and agendas
- Assists with development and administration of federal, state and local regulatory compliance programs, policies and procedures.
- Performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, such as updating form letters, editing documents, copying, filing, scanning, and document management.
- Administers Company licensing and registration program.
- Establishes priorities and maintains good interpersonal relations and communications with a wide variety of individuals and groups to include in-house and outside lawyers, support staff, regional employees, human resources, and corporate executives.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a valid Driver License
- Strong sense of integrity and firm understanding of confidentiality
- Must be able to prepare complex documents and compose correspondence
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to prioritize tasks when faced with multiple deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook).
Physical Requirements
Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.
- Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.
- Constantly reads written communications and views email submissions.
- The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.
- Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.
- Rarely exposed to high and low temperatures
- Rarely exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
Education
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation Data
Base Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 USD (Colorado Only)

As a result, salaried employees are eligible for paid time off beginning upon hire. Salaried positions (project engineers and above) participate in an annual bonus plan, subject to company and employee performance. Salaried employees (this is all salaried employees) are also eligible for a company cell phone or cell phone allowance in accordance with company policy. Further, salaried employees (project engineers and above) also receive either a vehicle or vehicle allowance in accordance with Hensel Phelps’ policies. Based on position location, a cost of living adjustment (COLA) may also be included (subject to periodic review and adjustment).
