Job Description
This role's responsibility is to oversee and coordinate onsite energy isolation and restoration activities, ensuring all changes in energy events are properly planned, communicated, documented, and executed in alignment with project requirements. The role partners with key stakeholders, helping to maintain project schedule, leads the management and field auditing of documentation associated with change in energy events, and supports the commissioning process by helping ensure onsite trade partners, owner vendors, and third parties comply with site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy requirements.
- Review and validate adherence to trade partners, vendors and third-party safety programs to ensure they meet or exceed site-specific requirements.
- Review and audit all onsite change of energy applications and requests.
- Conduct field audits to verify site conditions align with authorized applications and established Control of Hazardous Energy requirements.
- Support the commissioning and start-up process to ensure activities comply with site-specific Control of Hazardous Energy requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with project owners, Hensel Phelps staff, craft personnel, trade partners, vendors, and third-party entities.
- Participate in the six-step quality control and safety process.
Qualifications
- Technical background in construction, field operations, or building systems through education, experience or a combination of both.
- Three to five years of electrical or energization-related experience.
- Working knowledge of energy safety concepts, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and experience supporting commissioning or field coordination activities.
- Ability to read and interpret site-specific one-line diagrams.
- NFPA 70E training and electrical room/arc flash awareness training.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in active job site environments.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse field stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

- Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.

- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.
- Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.
- The person in this position regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.
- Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements.
- Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights.
- Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch.
- Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist.
- Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.
- Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures
- Frequently exposed to noisy environments and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Compensation Data (Washington Only)
Total Compensation: $114,900 - $119,790
Base Compensation: $97,800 - $102,690
Auto Allowance: $16,200 (Or a company-provided vehicle)
Phone Allowance: $900
